Diagnoses We Treat

 Our therapists are experts in the evaluation and treatment of the following diagnoses.

  • Bladder Discomfort - refers to pain or irritation to the lower abdominal region and/or bladder

  • Bladder Issues - relating to tight pelvic floor muscles potentially causing urgency, frequency, hesitancy, incomplete voiding and/or nocturia (voiding more than 2 times/night)

  • Chronic Nonbacterial Prostatitis / Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome - inflammation of the prostate / pain in the pelvic region

  • Chronic Pelvic Pain - refers to pain in the pelvic region

  • Coccygodynia (Tailbone Pain) - tailbone and coccyx region pain

  • Cyclist’s Syndrome - aka Pudendal Neuralgia

  • Diastasis Recti / Tummy Separation - separation (right side from left side) of the abdominal muscles through the Linea Alba

  • Difficulty Emptying the Bladder - inability to completely empty the bladder during urination

  • Dysmenorrhea (Painful Periods / Menses) - pain with periods / menses

  • Dyspareunia (Painful Intercourse) - pain with intercourse i.e. initial penetration, deep penetration and/or positions

  • Dysuria - pain with urination

  • Endometriosis - cells from the lining of the uterus grow in other areas of the body.  Can cause pain, irregular bleeding and/or infertility

  • Fibromyalgia - long-term, body-wide pain and tenderness in joints, muscles, tendons and other soft tissue

  • Frequency / Urgency of Urination - relating to voiding frequently (greater than every 2 hours) and/or strong, sudden urges to urinate due to bladder spasms or contractions

  • Genital Numbness - numbness in the perineal, genital region

  • Incontinence / Leakage - involuntary leaking of urine

  • Interstitial Cystitis / Painful Bladder Syndrome - inflammation of the bladder wall tissues causing pain

  • Lower Back Pain

  • Male Pelvic Pain - pain in the pelvic region including the abdominal wall and hips

  • Pain and Dysfunction associated with bike riding

  • Pelvic Organ Prolapse - slipping or falling of the pelvic organs (bladder, urethra, uterus or rectum) due to weakening of the pelvic muscles or ligaments

  • Pelvic Pain Syndromes - refers to pain in the lower abdominal and pelvic regions

  • Postoperative Rehabilitation - pelvic muscle evaluation and treatment after a Prostatectomy (surgery to remove the male prostate)

  • Pregnancy Related Issues - any pain or dysfunction in the pelvis, hips or low back relating to pregnancy

  • Prenatal and Postpartum - physical therapy to address pain or dysfunction in the pelvis, hips or low back

  • Pudendal Neuralgia - pain originating from the pudendal nerve causing pain in the perineum, rectum or clitoral regions

  • Rectal Pain - pain in or around the rectum (internal or external). May or may not be associated with pain with bowel movements

  • Sacro-iliac / SI joint pain - pain originating or relating to the SI joints (joints between the pelvis and sacrum)

  • Urinary / Bowel / Sexual Dysfunction

  • Vestibulodynia - pain and discomfort in the area around the opening of the vagina

  • Vulvar / Vaginal Pain Syndrome - pain, discomfort, itching felt around the vulvar region

  • Vulvar Vestibulitis - redness, inflammation and/or pain of the vestibule (entrance to the urethra and vagina)

  • Vulvodynia - chronic pain around the opening of the vagina
